The study was motivated by the state of social studies students in learning looks passive. The aim of research describing interests and student learning outcomes in social studies learning model STAD Cooperative learning. Type of research is classroom action research. The research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and continued with achievement test. The subject of the study is the fourth grade students of SDN 28 Jorong Nan Tigo of 20 people, consisting of 11 boys and 9 girls. The research instrument in the study is the observation sheet teacher activities, student activity sheets observation, field notes and test student learning outcomes. Based on the analysis of process observation sheet student activities at each cycle of the percentage interest acquired ask students increased from 10% and 35% to 25% and 42.5%, interest in collecting information has increased from 12.5% and 30% to 22.5% and 40 %. The results of students in the first cycle the percentage of completeness of students 55% and the average value is 65, while the percentage of completeness in the second cycle students 85% and the average value was 75. The average teacher activity was 74.05% in each cycle. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the IPS learning model of STAD Cooperative learning can increase interest and learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SDN 28 Jorong Nan Tigo.
