Abstrak

This research is motivated by learning Civics which during the student did not master and understand the subject matter Civics because the teacher is not to associate the material with the experience of students in the learning environment and still centered on the teacher. This study aimed to describe the increase in activity and student learning outcomes in learning civics class IV by using methods of problem solving in SDN 07 Luhak Nan Duo. This research is a classroom action research conducted in the second semester of the academic year 2015/2016 at SDN 07 Luhak Nan Duo. The subjects were students of class IV of 20 people. The study was conducted in two cycles. The research instrument in the form of a booklet, observation sheet activities of teacher and student activity observation sheet. From the analysis of the data showed increased activity asks students in the first cycle 64% increased 83.1% in the second cycle. Activities of students in answering questions 65% in the first cycle increased by 81.2% in the second cycle, the activity of students in making inferences 62.5% increase 83.1% in the second cycle. Cognitive learning outcomes of students 71.7% in the first cycle increased by 86.7% in the second cycle. This means the implementation of learning civics through the method of problem solving goes well. Based on the results of this study concluded that the Civics learning through problem solving methods can increase the activity and learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SDN 07 Luhak Nan Duo. The results of this study can be useful for teachers and readers in order to improve student learning outcomes in the classroom, while students can train for cooperation in group discussions.
