Abstrak

This research is motivated by the lack of student learning outcomes in learning civics. The procedure consisted of four components planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The purpose of this study is to describe an improved understanding of the fourth grade students and increase student affective aspects covering cooperation and responsibility on civics lesson about material Open Ended globalization through an approach at SDN 29 Sungai Nipah South Coastal District. This research is a classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and one final exam cycle. Based on the results of the study, the average value increase students' understanding on the first cycle that increases in cycle Based on the results of the study, the average value increase students' understanding on the first cycle that increases in cycle II 64.61 with 46,15% student’s get clear point into 78.84 with 84,61% student’s get clear point. While affective student learning outcomes indicator of cooperation in the first cycle was 64.11% with 30% student’s get clear point and increased in the second cycle into 75.82% with 46,15% student’s get clear point and on student learning outcomes affective indicators of responsibility in the first cycle was 61.49% with 30% student’s get clear point and increased in the second cycle 74,45% with 53,85% student’s get clear point can be concluded, through the Open Ended approach can improve learning outcomes of fourth grade students. Based on this study, the researchers suggested that teachers can use Open Ended approach in learning to improve student learning outcomes.
