This research aimed to describe the increase in the ability to read aloud second grade students in learning Indonesian, to improve the ability to read aloud second grade in learning Indonesian conducted class action research direct instructional model. Based on the research discovered that the average percentage of students reading aloud in the first cycle 59.37% while in the second cycle 87.50%. The average results of tests to learn the first cycle is 69.4 and the second cycle is 88.13. From the research, it can be concluded that learning Indonesian through direct instructional model can improve the ability to read aloud second grade students at SDN 03 Purus Selatan Padang City.
