THE ROLE OF SANITATION DEPARTMENTS AND CITY LANDSCAPING MEADOW IN TACKLING THE GARBAGE PROBLEM IN THE DISTRICT OF NOITH PADANG

Abstrak

This research is motivated by the amount of trash that produced the study site area which is not proportional to the number of residents. This study aims to determine the role of the DKP Padang City in the implementation of counfermeasures garbage collection, to determine the role of Padang City DKP in the implementation of garbage removal, to determine the role of Padang City DKP in the implementation of waste management. The type of research is descriptive qualitative, it means that lays out what their finding in the field. Instruments was used are (1). Observation sheet, (2). Interview, (3). Questionnaire, and (4). Documentation. The eresult of the study describes the role of the department cleanliness and landscaping of Padang City in the process of garbage collection, waste transportation, and waste management is working properly. Data from questionnaires distributed to the community can be seen that people are quite satisfied with the result of the performance of the officer and the officer transporting waste the bins collection. It is visible from 152 people (76%) people who assess the performance of garbage collection has been good officer and 161 people (80,5%) people who assess the performance of waste transport officer has been good. It can be concluded that the department cleanliness and landscaping city well field has been instrumental in tackling the problem of garbage.
