Abstrak

The purpose of this study is to improve student learning outcomes in social studies learning using models Snowball Throwing in the fourth grade SDN 15 Patamuan, Padang Pariaman regency. This research is a classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and one final exam cycle. The subjects were fourth grade students of SDN 15 Patamuan, totaling 10 people. The research instrument used was the observation sheet affective student learning outcomes, teacher observation sheet aspect in learning, test results of students' cognitive learning, field notes, and cameras. Based on the test results of students' cognitive learning gained an average of cognitive learning outcomes of students in the first cycle and increased 66.5% in the second cycle into 10.50%. While the percentage of completeness in the first cycle of 50% and increased in the second cycle of 80%. Based on the results of the observation sheet affective student learning outcomes, obtained percentage affective learning outcomes of students in the first cycle 69.68% increase to 84.73% in the second cycle. This means learning social studies using Snowball Throwing models can improve learning outcomes of students in fourth grade elementary school 15 Patamuan. Based on these results, the researchers suggested that teachers can use models Snowball Throwing in learning to improve student learning outcomes.
