IMPROVING STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES WITH THE TALKING STICK MODELS IN THE FOURTH GRADE MATH LEARNING AT SDN 10 SUNGAI SAPIH PADANG

Abstrak

This background of this thesis, by mathematics learning outcomes grade IV which is low because teachers still use the lecture method in teaching and the students do not understand the material presented by the teacher, and learning Mathematics PAIKEM not implemented. The research problems are how the implementation of learning mathematics by using model Talking Stick can improve student learning outcomes fourth grade SDN 10 Sungai Sapih Padang. This research is a classroom action research. The subject of the study is the fourth grade students as many as 39 people. The research instrument used is the observation sheet teacher activity and achievement test sheet. Based on research carried out research activities of teachers percentage obtained by researchers in the first cycle 68.755% increase in cycle II to 85.42% and the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes in the first cycle increased 48.72% in the second cycle of 82.05%. So the use of Talking Stick models can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics teaching fourth grade at SDN 10 Sungai Sapih Padang. Researchers suggested that teachers can use Talking Stick models to improve student learning outcomes in learning Mathematics. Keywords : Talking Stick , Mathematics Learning Outcomes.
