Abstrak

The background of this thesis, by the lack of interaction of students with the teacher and student engagement during the learning process so that the knowledge provided by the teacher is less absorbed by the students have an impact on student learning outcomes. When students are given specific exercise, students are less able to resolve the problem by either a misunderstanding of the concept of lessons given teachers who lead student learning outcomes is low. The research problems are how improving student learning outcomes in learning mathematics by using Model Problem Based leraning in class III SD N 10 Sungai Sapih Padang. This type of research is a classroom action research. The subject of research is the third grade students as many as 41 people. The research instrument used is the observation sheet activities of teachers and achievement test sheet. From the research findings obtained by the percentage of completeness of students in the first cycle of 58.85% increased in the second cycle of 73.32%. So learning mathematics by using Problem Based Learning model can improve student learning outcomes Class III SD. Researchers suggested that teachers can use the Problem Based Learning Model to improve student learning outcomes in learning mathematics.
