Abstrak

Abstract

Math is taught at each level of education. Mathematics became a part that can’t be ignored at this present time. Mathematics is needed as a support in life, be it in reasoning and thinking logically and critically. Many things that constrain the creation of success learning mathematics. In this case the researchers conducted a study on the mistakes, difficulties, and linkages between the mistakes and difficulties in solving mathematical problems and their causes. The mistakes and difficulties are viewed from a variety of mathematical object, such as facts, concepts, principles, algorithms and rules. The mistakes, difficulties, and linkages between the mistakes and difficulties as well as a contributing factor is analyzed using diagnostic tests and interviews. By knowing the mistakes, difficulties, and linkages between the mistakes and difficulties in solving mathematical problems as well as a contributing factor, the researchers can identify the types and causes of mistakes made and the difficulties experienced by students.
