Abstrak

 

ABSTRACT

 

This study aimed to describe the type and cause of code-mixing in the family's daily conversation Mrs. Dewiana. Theory referenced in this research is the theory advanced by Nursaid and Maksan (2002) about study of sociolinguistics is code-mixing as well as several other support theories relating to code-mixing. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. Data of this study is the family's daily conversation Mrs. Dewiana. Data were analyzed by stage: (1) classifies words based on the code-mixing Sundanese found, (2) formulate the causes of code-mixing and (3) concludes the analysis obtained. Mixed type code is code-mixing into as many as 106 of data. The cause of code-mixing is the identification of the role , the identification of varieties and the identification of a desire to explain and interpret. For that analysis results can be concluded that the code-mixing occurs in the family since Mrs. Dewiana provoked by opponents said that using local languages and to have their children can chat with other families when the return home and create a relaxed communication. Situations like these encourage code-mixing.
