Abstract

Learning process at Junior High School number 13 in Padang looked that the students were less active and less enthusiastic in learning mathematics. When the teacher explaining the materials, many students did not focus because they were busy with their own activities. When the teacher asked them to do the exercises, only a few of them did it seriously. To solve this problem, one of the efforts that can do is with applying Brain Based Learning approach. The hypothesis that stated is the results of mathematics learning which  students who apply the Brain Based Learning approach are better than the result of mathematics learning which other students who apply usual learning in seventh grade students at Junior High School number 13 in Padang. The population in this experiment is all of the seventh grade students at Junior High School number 13 in Padang the academic year 2015/2016 consisting of nine classes that have been tested for normality and homogeneity. The sample in this experiment is at class VII 5 as the experiment class and students of class VII 9 as the control class. Based on data of student learning results in both sample classes, it is done hypothesis test with t-test at the level   and  obtained , . Because of  then accepted hypothesis is the results of  students mathematics learning which the learning applies the Brain Based Learning approach is better than the results of students mathematics learning which only apply usual learning at seventh grade students at Junior High School number 13 in Padang.
