Abstrak

Abstract

The low percentage of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics one of them caused by a lack of motivation, creativity and liveliness of the seventh grade students of SMPN 31 Padang. To overcome this problem, one of the efforts to be made to implement cooperative learning model Team Assisted Individualization (TAI). With the implementation of the cooperative model TAI type this, students can be expected to respond to learning materials well as asking, answering questions, express opinions, and students can discuss in groups to share knowledge to discuss issues related to worksheets provided and can measure the ability of individual students by holding a quiz each Early learning.This type of research is experimental research. The population in this study included students of class VII SMPN 31 Padang in the academic year 2015/2016. Samples were selected from the existing population, after it emerged that two classes have homogeneous population sample by random sampling. Samples from two classes, class VII4 as an experimental class and class VII5 as the control class.Learning activity data obtained from the observation sheet that consists of four aspects of student activity. Results obtained their upward trend in student learning activities. Data learning outcomes in the classroom samples were obtained from a given test consists of seven items. The test results were analyzed to test the hypothesis using the formula for two independent samples. At  = 3.68 and db = 1 obtained p <0.05 meansrejected and H1accepted. Thus, it was concluded that the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics learning using cooperative learning model Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) is higher than the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics with regular learning.
