NILAI-NILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER TOKOH UTAMA DAN KAITANNYA DENGAN ALUR DAN LATAR NOVEL SALAH ASUHAN KARYA ABDOEL MOEIS

ABSTRACT
This study aimed to describe the values of character education and its relation with the main character and the background grooves contained in the novel Salah Asuhan Abdoel Moeis work. The theory used in this research is surely on literature, put forward by Atmazaki (2007), Ahadiat (2007), and Nurgiyantoro (2010). The theory used in relation to the values of character education qualitative descriptive method, suggested by Moleong (2010). The object of this study is the values of character education and its relation with the flow and novel background. Based on the analysis of data, found as many as 41 data related to the values of character education the main character novel Salah Asuhan works Abdoel Moeis there are 10 values of character education, namely: (1) the religious as much as 1 of data, (2) to be honest as much as 2 data , (3) tolerance as much as 3 the data, (4) working hard as much as 2 data, (5) the curiosity as much as 11 data, (6) love the country as much as 1 data, (7) friends / communicative as many as 15 data, (8 ) love peace as much as 2 data, (9) enjoy reading as much as 2 data, (10) the responsibility as much as 2 data. Linkages groove and background in the novel portrayed the time change the main characters. As a kid he was a fine character and manners, but since he was transferred to Batavia school and stayed with the Europeans, nurtured by culture and European law then change their attitudes and behavior, he did not get his religious teachings during in Betawi. His attitude was like do not want to be friends with Bumiputra, it is also degrading and humiliating Bumiputra, he also hated Minangkabau tradition which he considers overly restrictive and archaic. Thus, changes of the main character is strongly influenced by environmental factors, residence, relationships, and care / education.
