Abstrak

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to describe linguistic politeness in speech acts Minangkabau children out of school to the community in complex Nuansa Indah RT 002 RW 004 Village South Limau Manis Pauh District of the city of Padang, West Sumatra. The theory used is the opinion of Leech (in Chaer 2010) theory of politeness, which consists of six maxims. The research is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. Sources of data in this study consisted of 5 people informant school dropouts. Submit a narrative sentences of school children to the society in aspects of speech acts directive in the Village of South Limau Manis Subdistrict Pauh Padang. The results of this study found that there are five forms of speech acts directive children out of school in the village of South Limau Manis, Pauh subdistrict, Padang City, which begs the directive speech act, advise, tell, and opposing counsel. It was found that the speech act of school dropouts in the Village of South Limau Manis Subdistrict of Padang Pauh on society classified as less polite. Of the five forms of speech acts directive observed, speech acts directive is the most common speech acts directive against as many as 11 data, while the speech act invoke as much as 7 data, speech acts advised by 4 of data, speech acts suggests 2 data and speech acts have 6 data. This is due to lack of knowledge and education of characters that should be in getting children in school education as well as surrounding environmental factors that affect language and family backgrounds and less educated.
