This research is motivated by the lack of narrative writing skills of students in the fourth grade SDN 01 Balai SelasaKabupaten Pesisir Selatancaused during the learning process less teachers to motivate students so that students are less interested in writing. The purpose of this study to describe the increase in writing skills of fourth grade students in essay writing narrative model Example Example Non-SDN 01 Balai SelasaKabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The theory used in this research is the theory advanced by writing Susanto (2014), and Non-Example Example Model proposed by Huda (2014). This research is a classroom action research. This research was conducted by two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and one final test cycle. The subjects were fourth grade students of SD Negeri 01 Balai SelasaKabupaten Pesisir Selatanof 20 people. The research instrument used is the students' writing skills assessment sheets, activity sheets teachers and student activity sheets. Complete of result learn skill write composition of narasi student at cycle of I and of II, obtained by percentage of skill write student at cycle of I equal to 30% with mean result of learning 54,3 and mount at cycle of II equal to 73,68% with mean result of learning 73. From the results it can be concluded that learning Indonesian in making a narrative essay using models Non-Example Example can improve the writing skills of narrative essay fourth grade students of SD Negeri 01 Balai SelasaKabupaten Pesisir Selatan.
