Abstrak

This research is motivated by the lack of writing skills of students in learning Indonesia's subject. The point is the ability to write a description's paragraph of the students are still low. Students are hard to find and ideas, the structure of sentences not well ordered, and most of them still use spelling mistakes. So that there are  a lot of student who do not reach the grades of KKM. The purpose of this research is to improve the ability of students to write a paragraph description. This study uses a model Contextual Teaching and Learning theory Sanjaya Vienna (2006) and Shoimin (2014) that use a classroom action research methode. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two times meetings. The research subjects are fourth grade students of 52 Parupuk Tabing Padang elementary school. The instrument research are a writing skills test and observation sheets of student and teacher.The results showed that, using the model of Contextual Teaching and Learning can improve learning outcomes of students' writing skills. In the first cycle the percentage of students completeness are 45.45% with average grade of student is 73. In the second cycle, the percentage of completeness are 81.81% with average grade of students increased to 78.77. Based on these results, it can be concluded that this methode can increase the writing skills of fourth grade students of 52 Parupuk Tabing Padang elementary school.
