POLITICAL CULTURE VILLAGE HILL DISTRICT PAMEWA MENTAWAI ISLANDS ON ELECTORAL LEGISLATIVE

Abstrak

Abstract                This study aimed to describe the political culture orientation Pamewa Hill Village community and the role of district commissioner Mentawai Islands, type of research is qualitative descriptive approach, instruments used are sheets of questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the number of people who receive money or rewards as much as 67.5% stated that the public never received any money or rewards when the general election, then people who choose because they are still one family or tribe as much as 35% of the 40 respondents. Furthermore, the Election Commission's role in improving society's political participation pamewa Pamewa Hill Village Election Commission is disseminating election by putting up a banner on the highway, the open and billboards. Judging from the level of participation of community election Pamewa Hill Village has been good enough to participate as much as 92.5% and 7.5% never participated participation of 40 respondents. The political culture of rural communities pamewa hill still oriented to the political culture of the subject or subjects as much as 68%, people-oriented political culture of the participants by 29.5%, whereas the lowest was parochial political culture orientation with a percentage of 2.5%.   Keywords: Political Culture, Society, Legislative Election
