ABSTRACT
This research is begun from observation results that found by the author in the field, where it is expected that speed and explosive power leg muscle provides the correlation with the capability for long jump squat style of female students of grade VIII in Junior High School 34 Padang. The purpose of this research is to find out the correlation of speed and explosive power leg muscle with the capability for long jump squat style of female students of grade VIII in Junior High School 34 Padang.
This is a correlation research with 158 female students of grade VIII in Junior High School 34 Padang as the population. The sampling is using Purposive sampling, which consists of 25 female students. Data is collected by three techniques; 50m speed running test for speed, Standing Board Jump test for measuring explosive power leg muscle, long jump squat style test for measuring long jump squat style capability. The obtained data is analyzed by using Product Moment and double correlation.
According to the analysis and discussion can be concluded that, 1) there is a significant correlation between speed and long jump squat style, atα (0,05) rhitung(0,4123) >rtab(0,4040),, 2) there is a significant correlation between explosive power leg muscle and long jump squat style, atα (0,05) rhitung(0,4990) >rtab(0,4040), 3) there is a significant correlation between speed and explosive power leg muscle together, at α (0,05)Rhitung(0,5976) >Rtab(0,4040).
