ABSTRACK

The purpose of this research was to describe idiom meaning in song lyrics of Andra Respati in Album “Manangihlah” and the relation to the aesthetic value. The theory of this research was idiom meaning theory that proposed by Chaer (2009) and aesthetic value that proposed by Atmazaki (2007). The types of this research was qualitative research. By classified the data, a analyzed the data in the form of idiom meaning, interpreted the result of data analysis and took a conclusions. Based on the result of data analysis in the lyrics of the album “Manangihlah” that  song by Andra Respati that found 33 idioms meaning data and have relationship with four aesthetic values that were unity, harmony, balance and opposition. The relationship between the meaning of the idiom with aesthetic values in the lyrics “Manangihlah” can be seen from the unity and harmony of language idiom meaning to reveal the sense of the author expressed in the lyrics of the song. It can be concluded idiom meaning to the value of aesthetic values related, as in the song lyrics were idioms that can add the fineness value, so that the audience can feel what the author said.
