       The purpose of this study to increase the activity and the ability to write summaries graders VI / B SDN 26 Jati Utara Padang through the Strategy The Firing Line. The theory used is the strategy of The Firing Line, according Raisul (2013), while the writing used the theory proposed by Semi (2004). This type of research is a classroom action research. Subjects of this study graders VI / B of 20 people. The instruments used were observation sheet teacher activity, student activity observation sheet, write a summary sheet capabilities, and a test sheet end of the cycle. The results were obtained, in the first cycle the average value of the test's ability to write a summary of the first cycle was 67.6 increase in cycle II 77.7. Based on the analysis of student activity sheet in the first cycle and the second cycle student activity from the average percentage increase of 65.7% to 83.4%. From the research results can be concluded that there is increased activity and the ability to write summaries graders VI / B SD Negeri 26 Jati Utara Padang after using Strategy The Firing Line.
