ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA KELAS VIII DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL-SOAL ALJABAR DI SMP NEGERI 27 PADANG

Abstract

The background of this research is that there are many students made error in doing algebra test. Besides, the math daily test scores on Second Grade Student at SMP Negeri 27 Padang on 2015/2016 is still under KKM. So, it should be done an Eror Analysis made by students and describeb the factors caused the problem. This research is aimed: 1) To Analysis the error based on fact, skill, rule concept, and not answer the test made by second grade students at SMP Negeri 27 Padang in doing algebra test, 2) To describe factors caused the second grade students at SMP Negeri 27 Padang made error doing algebra test. The design of this research is descriptive research using qualitative research method. The population of this research is the second grade students at SMP Negeri 27 Padang. They are distributed into seven classes. This research used purposive sampling technique. The choosen class is class VIII₅ that consisted of 31 students. The instrument used in this research are algebra test and interview. The result of this research shows that: 1) The fact errors made by students is 52%, 2) The skill errors made by students is 100%, 3) The rule concept errors made by students is 100%, 4) The rule errors made by students is  92%, 5) and not answer the test errors made by students is 92%. Factors caused students made errors in doing algera test are: 1) internal factor, 2) External factor, 3) and carelessness factor.
