PENERAPAN STRATEGI MASTERY LEARNING DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP KARTIKA 1-7 PADANG

Abstract
The result of the grade VIII students in SMP Kartika I-7 Padang still under the Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimun (KKM) which is caused by the inactivity of the student in the learning process. That fact bring a good learning method that can be applied to solve that problem, and the method is Mastery Learning. This research is aimed to shows that the mathematics grade of Mastery Learning Student is better than the students who applied usual learning method of grade VIII students in SMP Kartika I-7 Padang. The research questions of this research are how is the mathematic learning activity that applying Mastery Learning strategy in grade VIII students in SMP Kartika I-7 Padang. This analysist is based on experimental research. Based on the data analysis of the student activity that applying Mastery Learning strategy, the activity of observed students is tend to increasing in every meeting and based on the mathematic’s grade of the sample class student, the analysis of hypothesis is conducted by analyze the average different with standard . From the result of the calculation, writter get the result and. Because , the hypothesis offered is accepted. So that, writter concluded that the resultof the mathematic learning grade of the student applying Mastery Learning strategy is better than the result of mathematic learning grade of the studdent who is using usual learning method.From the result of research, writter suggesting to mathematic teacher to apply Mastery Learning method in learning process as an effort to make the learning process being more activ and make the grade of student is better.
