PENGARUH METODE KARYA WISATA TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN MENULIS PUISI SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 3 PADANG

ABSTRACT
This research is motivated by the poor performance of students in poetry writing skills, especially students of class VII SMP Negeri 3 Padang. This is partly due to the learning strategies of writing poetry is less effective that students are less interested in writing poetry and students have difficulty in writing poetry. The purpose of this study was to prove whether the learning outcomes of students who are taught by the method of field trip higher than students taught by conventional methods on the skills of writing poetry. The theory used in this study are those of (1) Suparno and Muhammad Yusuf (2006) about skill in writing poetry, (2) Aminuddin (2004) about poetry, (3) Wardoyo (2013) about writing poetry, (4) Hamzah Uno ( 2007) about methods of learning, and (5) Mulyasa (in Hamdayama, 2005) about methods of field trip. This research is a quasi-experiment. The population in this study were students of class VII SMP Negeri 3 Padang with the number of 139 students, divided in five classes. Sample were taken by cluster random sampling so elected two classes, namely classes VII.3 consist of 25 students as the control classes taught by conventional teaching method and classroom VII.5 consist of 25 students as an experiment classes taught by the method of field trip. Learning outcomes data obtained through test writing poetry. The data were analyzed with the prerequisite test was previously tested using the sample normality test and homogeneity test Liliefors. The test of normality experiment class and control class found L-count < Ltabel, namely 0.028 < 0.185 (experiment) and 0.018 < 0.185 (control). Furthermore, the both of two classes derived from normal distributed data for α of 0.05. In the test the homogeneity of the two-class data obtained results F-count < F table, namely 7.89 < 1.526, the both of two classes has a homogenitas variance for α of 0.05. Based on the research results gained pretest experiment class and pretest control class available t-count 0,25 < t-table 2.091 so the hypothesis HI rejected and HO accepted. While the study postest experiment class and postest control class available t-count 8,623 > t-table 2.091 so HI accepted and HO rejected. Based on the results of this study concluded that the use of methods of field trip give a significant influence on poetry writing skills of students of class VII SMP Negeri 3 Padang.
