PENINGKATAN AKTIVITAS BELAJAR DAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS SISWA KELAS VIII.5 MELALUI MODEL THINK TALK WRITE (TTW) BERBASIS MEDIA AUDIOVISUAL DI SMP NEGERI 31 PADANG

Abstrak

            This research is motivated by the lack of student’s learning activity and learning outcomes of SMP Negeri 31 Padang class VIII.5 in learning Indonesian, primarily on writings skills. The purpose of this study was to describe the increase in the activity of learning and the ability in write VIII.5 grade students of SMPN 31 Padang through model Think Talk Write (TTW) based audiovisual media. The theory used in this research are the theory of the learning activity described by Sadirman (2014), the theory of writing skills expressed by Tarigan (2008), the theory of the concept of learning model proposed by Huda (2014), and the theory of learning media proposed by Azhar (2003). This research is a classroom action research conducted by two cycles. In the first cycle, the first meeting held on September 26th,2016 and the second meeting on September 27th, 2016, while for the second cycle, the first meeting was held on Oktober 31th, 2016 and the second meeting on November 01th, 2016.  The researcher took 31 students from VIII.5 grade students of SMP Negeri 31 Padang a academic year 2016/2017 as research subjects. The data collection is done by using observasion sheets, a written test, and field notes. Data analysis techniques: (1) to calculate the learning activity is done by using the formula: the number of active students divided by the total number of students at times one hundred per cent, while for calculating the average by using the formula: the percentage of students learning activities of students divided by the number of units. (2) to calculate the results of students' writing skills performed by the formula: score obtained in for the score to be achieved in a test multiplied by one hundred per cent, while the average is calculated using the formula: the sum of all values divided by the number of students.Based on the research results revealed: (1) the average percentage of student activity firs cycle was 75% and the second cycle is equal to 87% (increased to12%), (2) the average result of learning writing skills of student in cycle I is 81,25 and the secondcycle was 87,14 (increased to 5,89). It can be concluded that the application of the model Think Talk Write (TTW) based audiovisualmedia can increase the activity of learning and writing skills VIII.5 grade students of SMPN 31 Padang.
