Abstract

Frequency regulation is very important for a PLTM, because the frequency affects the consumer's
burden causing the damaged consumer electrical appliances to occur due to the rise or fall of the frequency
in the generator. Frequency control system in PLTMH in general there are two kinds namely, governor

(
water flow regulation system
)
 and Electronic Load Controllerc
(
ELC
)
 electronic load regulation system.
Lack of PLTMH control system with ELC which generator always operated with full load condition, so that
energy is wasted using ELC through complement system load on ELC. The frequency setting uses the
governor to regulate water entering the turbine through a sluice gate. To perform this function, the sensor on
the governor's system measures the frequency generated by the generator by converting the generator
frequency generated into a linear DC voltage to the frequency or called the F to V conversion. The frequency
control system uses a closed-loop control system, which the frequency will be controlled using Arduino unobased
PID
control
system.
The
frequency
sensor
used
is
lm2907
n14
which
converts
frequency
to
voltage
as
input

for execution to the actuator / governor via arduino when the frequency drops or rises to close and
open the floodgates on the generator turbine.
