Abstract

Casing of Water Vortex Turbine with water depth 200 mm produce most efficient outlet velocity, which with inlet velocity 0.20 m/s can be produced experimental outlet
velocity 1.56 m/s in research results H. M Shabara, et al. but the value of difference numerical analysis results with experimental results still high at 7%. So the author
want to do numerical analysis of fluid flow on Casing of Water Vortex Turbine with water depth 200 mm and inlet velocity 0.20 m/s using Ansys Fluent version 16.2. This
study aims to reduce the value of difference 7% in research H. M Shabara, et al. Flow Time used Steady State, Multiphase Model used Volume of Fluid (VOF) and Viscous
Model used k-epsilon RNG, k-omega SST, and RSM. Numerical analysis is done 3 times, namely Numerical Analysis I (k-epsilon RNG), Numerical Analysis II (k-omega
SST) and Numerical Analysis III (RSM), with different Viscous Model use, the author hopes to get the velocity outlet closest to the outlet velocity results of experimental
testing of H. M Shabara, et al. The results obtained by the authors showed that the value of 7% difference can be reduced to 5.26%, where experimental outlet velocity
research results H. M Shabara, et al. is 1.56 m/s and fluent outlet velocity result of numerical analysis of writer is 1.478 m/s with viscous model used is k-omega SST.
