Abstract

  ABSTRACT

Bark consists of several components that have benefits in each component. Where the bark component consists of water content, extractives, lignin, ash, carbohydrates. This study aims to analyze the chemical components of the outer and inner bark in the tropics (acacia and eucalyptus) and subtropics (pine, fir, and birch) by extraction method. Where the results obtained for each of these components are in the tropical bark (acacia and eucalyptus) for the outer parts ranging from 5.8% -46.83%, while for the inner bark the range is between 3.92% -44.17 %, While the bark of the subtropical regions (pine; fir; birch) for the outside ranges from 1.26% - 51.63%. The results of analysis of bark components show that the chemical composition of tropical bark is different from subtropics.
