Abstract

Kenaf (hibiscus cannabinus) is a plant derived from plants thousands of years ago in the Eastern-Central Africa region. Kenaf can grow in tropical and sub-tropical regions. Composite is an engineering material which consists of two or more ingredients combined and each material has different properties from each other both from chemical and physical properties and will remain separate until the end of the manufacturing process. Steps for manufacturing composite materials: A mixture of matrix material (Epoxy / hardener) and filler material (Filler), is inserted into the mold which is then pressurized 30,50.70 kg / m2 in the printing process. The printing temperature that will be used is 110 0C, 1300C and 1600C. After the heater reaches the set temperature, the mold is heated for 30 minutes. In the printing process emphasis is given on the prescribed pressure. After the manufacturing process is complete, remove the specimen from the mold. From this study it can be concluded that the more fiber and the emphasis added to the biocomposite, the more the impact value of the biocomposite increases, the less fiber and the added emphasis on biocomposite, the more the flexural strength value increases.
