Abstract

The load imbalance in an electric power distribution system always occurs, which is caused by the load of each phase problem at an uneven low voltage load. As a result of this load imbalance currents appear in the transformer neutral. The current flowing in the neutral transformer causes losses on the transformer, namely losses due to the presence of neutral currents on the transformer neutral conductor, and losses due to neutral currents flowing to the ground. As a result of losses that occur causes a decrease in the efficiency of the performance of the transformer in channeling power. The method carried out in this study begins with the search for literature and references related to the analysis of load imbalances. After collecting references, then proceed with taking research data by following the procedures from the agency. the next step is to calculate and analyze the effect of load imbalances on the performance of the distribution transformer. After calculation and analysis for one week and in one year it can be concluded that the biggest losses in the transformer for one week occurred on Tuesday at 20:00 at 3.65 kW and transformer efficiency by 97.46%. While the biggest losses in transformers in one year occurred in February 3.34 kW and transformer efficiency was 97.68%.
