Abstract

PLTMH has a limited capacity, in order to meet load requirements, an interconnection of micro hydro power plants (PLTMH) is carried out. Capacity and capability of the electric power system in a network depends on the security system used. Therefore, in planning an electric power system, disturbance conditions that may occur in the system need to be considered through analysis of short circuit interference. Short circuit interference is one of the disorders that often arise, both the interference of one phase of the ground, two phases, two phases of ground, and between phases. For the safety of the plant and the burden of interference, the Over Current Relay (OCR) protection relay coordination works when there is a short circuit disturbance so that it has an impact on the increase in current and Ground Fault Relay (GFR) that works when there is a current imbalance or short circuit interference to the ground. To simulate short-circuit fault current in the PLTMH electrical system using ETAP. From the results of the calculation of short circuit faults, the largest short circuit fault currents occur in the Patagak and Rimbo Batu with power capacities of 60 and 30 kW respectively, and installed loads of 57.2 and 20.2 kVA, short circuit fault currents occurred at 1904.76 A. While the smallest short circuit fault occurred in IMPP with a power capacity of 20 kW and installed load of 18.9 kVA, the amount of short circuit fault current was 327.86 A. the value of the current setting in each obtained different results. The largest current setting value for OCR relay protection is at the True Village generator with a current setting of 4.95 A with a relay work time of 0.83 s. While the largest current setting value for GFR relay protection is in the OMPP generator which is equal to 0.97 A with a relay work time of 1.02 s.
