Abstract

Grounding systems in electric power function, one of which is to secure electrical equipment to protect the danger of electric current to humans, equipment and buildings. Grounding is one way to reduce the influence of electric current that can occur by several types of causes, such as the presence of leakage currents or short circuit due to insulation failure and natural disasters and the result of lightning strikes. This research was conducted to analyze the evaluation of grounding values by applying grid combination and rod rod grounding installation in the 150 kV transmission tower, with the calculation value of existing detainees of 44 transmission tower units 150 kV Re ≥ 2Ω as many as 23 units and Re ≤ 2Ω as many as 11 units, value detainees that exceed 2Ω as many as 23 units are calculated by combining grid grounding using a design of 1.5 m X 1.5 m and 1 m X 1 m to obtain a smaller earth resistance value for more efficient system performance. For grid design the size is 1.5 m X 1.5 m depth ranging from 0.0086 m to 0.012 m and for sizes 1 m X 1 m the depth ranges from 1.726 m to 1.732 m. The grid design used is the design of 1 m X 1 m, because it meets the standards in the installation of grounding grids on the transmission tower.
