Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research to study the effect of time, type and volume of enzymes in the process of hydrolysis to obtain glucose as a feedstock for bioethanol manufacture. This research was conducted in several steps, including hydrolysis of starch of wild tubers with type and enzyme concentration variables to be glucose followed by fermentation of glucose into bietanol. Purification of bioethanol is done by distillation process. Analysis of starch and glucose was done by luff-schoorl method, while the measurement of bioethanol with density conversion. The results have been achieved for the varieties of enzyme α-amylase and glucoamylase with volume 0.308 and 0.74 ml, with hydrolysis time variables 60, 120 and 240 minutes. The results obtained the highest glucose levels on glukoamilase enzyme with volume of 0.308 ml and hydrolysis time of 60 minutes.
