Potensi Katalis Gamma Alumina (γ-Al2O3) Tersulfatasi Pada Esterifikasi Minyak Jelantah

Abstract

This paper present of methanol based esterification  of  wasted cooking oi (WCO 6.4 % free fatty acid content) with the heterogeneous γ-Al₂O₃ sulfated catalysts at different amount catalysts. The optimum convertion of FFA wasted cooking oil using synthesized γ-Al₂O₃ sulfated catalysts  withy ratio volume  methanol/oil ratio of 1.8 (v/v), reaction time of 3 hours  and raction temperature of 60 ^oC are  amount catalyst 2.3 % wt/vol . The heterogeneous γ-Al₂O₃ sulfated  catalysts slowly decreased with re-use after 3 cycles under optimized conditions.
