PENGUJIAN KOROSI PIPA BAJA PADA JARINGAN DISTRIBUSI AIR MINUM
Abstract
Corrosion is one of the most complicated and expensive problems faced in the distribution of drinking water. Most of which affect the corrosion of pipes, including the quality and composition of water, flow conditions, and the environment. To calculate the corrosion rate of steel pipes in drinking water distribution networks using H2O + H2SO4 solution with a method of weight loss in mpy (meters per year). In this study using black steel pipes as specimens flowed by a solution of water and sulfuric acid, using a pump for 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 30 hours, and 36 hours. The corrosion value of the mpy specimen pipe material was obtained from this study. Based on the results of the study, the value of the corrosion rate in steel pipes with a testing time of 6 hours is 889.27 mpy, 3115.34 mpy, 1029.46 mpy, and 597.77 mpy. Corrosion rate values on steel pipes with 12 hours testing time are 1048.69 mpy, 1786.72 mpy, 911.05 mpy, and 552.94 mpy. Corrosion rate values on steel pipes with a testing time of 18 hours were 1002.44 mpy, 1495.20 mpy, 1659.68 mpy, and 1042.88. Corrosion rate values on steel pipes with 24-hour testing time are 808.48 mpy, 1174.11 mpy, 1731.79 mpy, and 799.52 mpy. Corrosion rate values on steel pipes with a testing time of 30 hours are 995.36 mpy, 1054.55 mpy, 1566.50 mpy, and 842.44 mpy. Corrosion rate values on steel pipes with a testing time of 30 hours were 1363.33 mpy, 955.33 mpy, 1464.51 mpy, and 716.35 mpy. For conditions there is even surface corrosion and damage.
