Abstract

One energy that is clean and will never run out is solar energy (solar), the use of solar energy in Indonesia is generally used for drying agricultural products, fisheries and heating water while not so much for cooking. The solar stove is a tool that can utilize solar energy for cooking purposes, there are two types, namely the parabolic type solar stove and the box type solar stove. The working principle of the box type solar stove is that solar energy is converted into heat in a flat plate collector, heat is absorbed on the absorbent plate and then transferred to a pan containing rice and water. To increase the performance of the solar stove at the top of the collector, two reflective mirrors are installed. From the results of tests carried out for the type of box type solar water heater obtained the average solar intensity is 644.97W / m2 reaching the temperature of the water in a pan an average of 60.05 0C takes 3 hours by heating water with a volume of 900 ml angle of 120
