LEAN MANUFACTURING UNTUK MEREDUKSI WASTE PADA PRODUKSI PIPA (8” X 6 MM X 6 M) DI PT KUNANGO JANTAN (Studi Kasus : PT KUNANGO JANTAN)

Abstract

   PT. Kunango Jantan is a manufacturing company whose products are pipes. Based on the pipe production report (8 "x 6 mm x 6 m) in April 2019 it can be seen that production results are not always the same. This happens because of an indication of waste that interferes with the pipe production process. Therefore the concept of lean manufacturing is carried out the process of identifying and reducing the waste found. Lean manufacturing is a concept are used to reduce lead time and increase output by eliminating waste that occurs in a company with the aim of increasing company profits. This identification process uses waste workshop and VALSAT. For search the root causes of waste problems using fishbone diagrams. From the results of the workshop waste identification, the 3 biggest wastes taken are unnecessary inventory by 29%, waste waiting by 23%, and waste defects by 17% and from the results of the VALSAT process activity mapping obtained necessary non-value added activity by 17%. For the root cause of the problem are using a fishbone diagram, the root problem is that the operator does not carry out scheduled maintenance, communication errors and lack of PPIC supervision during pipe production, and the raw material area is not well ordered. Based on the root cause of the problem, the proposed improvement given is to confirm the application of engine maintenance as scheduled, improve communication and supervision of pipeline production, and improve the application of the 5S concept in the raw material area. From the proposed improvement, a GKM (Quality Control Group) team with the PDCA concept was also proposed so that the proposal would be implemented well and a continuous improvement process would occur so that waste could be reduced.
