PERBAIKAN TATA LETAK FABRIKASI PRODUKSI DENGAN PENDEKATAN SYSTEMATIC LAY-OUT PLANNING (SLP) DI CV. GEMILANG

Abstract

CV. Gemilang is a company engaged in the sofa industry and manufacturing household appliances and other industries. In the current condition, fabrication lay-out at CV.Gemilang is irregular, thus making the operator work uncomfortable because in working bac and forth. Besides that, the displacement of the produktion process is very important for the company to pay attention to, because of the irregular distance of each stage of the process,the longer the time when the process. In thisfinal project research, repair of dor production fabricasion lay-out was carried out using systematic lay-out planning (SLP) approach, namely the preparation of machines in fabrication based on the sequence of operating processes. At the design stage, the calculation of the actual number of machines, the calculation of floor area to determine the operator space in the work and the material stack. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the fabrication layout using a systematic lay-out (SLP) approach was better applied to this company because the fabrication layout was arranged according to the order  of the operation process. The proposed out on the fabrication floor is greater than the initial lay-out of 36 meter x 15 meters, namely the proposed lay-out 42,40 m x 35,15 meters, this is because there is space for the accumulation of raw materials. There is also a change in the cycle of displacement distance between departments, in the initial condition of the cycle comes the raw material becomes the finished product which is a distance of 15,2 meters while in the present condition is 37,83 meters, the condition is now longer due to changes in engine layout.
