Analisis Pengendalian Kualitas Produksi Kantong dengan Menggunakan Metode Six Sigma pada Unit Pabrik Kantong PT. Semen Padang

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Bag Factory Unit, PT.  Semen Padang.  The objectives to be achieved are to be able to know the quality of products such as what can be accepted / rejected by customers with CTQ, know the bag production process and identify the types of defects and causes of defects in the production of cement bags, analyze the causes of defects using pareto diagrams and fish bones diagrams.  Product defects that occur during the cement bag production process are caused by several factors, namely: people, machinery, work environment, methods and raw materials.  There are 7 types of defects in cement bag products, namely the identity or logo of the cement bag is unclear, the glue is not evenly applied, the bag is tangled, the bag is not cut, the valve is not installed properly, the glue is not attached to the top and bottom of the uneven bag and folds  at the top and bottom of the bag is not perfect.  The results of the analysis using the Pareto diagram found the 3 types of greatest potential defects, namely bags that are not separated in the cutting process with a percentage value that shows 20, 282%, glue on the top and bottom of the bag unevenly with a percentage value owned 18,049% and folds in the  top and bottom bags are not perfect, the percentage value is 16,970% with factors that cause defects in bag production including human factors, methods, materials, machinery, and work environment.  The number of products rejected in production will result in losses for the company, this is due to damage to the machine which is a waste of costs, labor, raw materials and time for the company.
