Abstract
ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) is an electrical apparatus that serves as a controller of the switching process between the main supply PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara) with a backup supply Genset (Generator Set) automatically. ATS is widely used in large power consumers in the three phase system. In its current state, because of frequent problems in the electrical system, the ATS also be a piece of equipment that is needed by a small consumer single phase. But in the stock market for small consumer ATS with single phase is difficult to obtain. In this study, an apparatus designed for a capacity of 32A ATS, where the customers maximum power limit is 4400VA who work on single phase system. Where the generator set is used brands Mikawa Gasoline Generator with 2500VA power capacity. ATS can be operated manually and automatically. Where in the automatic mode, if a blackout on the main supply, there is a time delay for 6 seconds before the ATS turn generator set. With the ATS, it can help consumers in the operation of the generator set automatically when the electricity of PLN goes out.
