Abstract

Problem supply chain that often occurs in product distribution systems is the phenomenon of the bullwhip effect, which is distortion of information that causes the variability of demand to be amplified from the lower level to the upper level of the supply chain. This research was conducted at Serayu Dua Store as a distributor of textile Famatex products. This study focuses on the calculation of the bullwhip effect at thelevel retailer against distributors for 5 types of Famatex products distributed to two retailers, namely the city of Padang and outside the city of Padang based on the calculation of the bullwhip effect. Furthermore, inventory control is carried out using themethod, which is Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) useful for minimizing the bullwhip effect and breaking down the total inventory cost. From the research results, it was found that a decrease in the value of the bullwhip effect with the aggregation of demand for products and retailers (ω1), initially the average for the Padang City area was 1.095 to 0.256 and for areas outside the city of Padang by 1.122 it decreased to 0.263. The aggregate demand for products (ω2) initially averaged 1.236, reduced to 0.294. Aggregation of demand for retailers (ω3) on average 1.149 is reduced to 0.177. The aggregate demand for echelon (ω4) in the initial condition is 1.203, it is reduced to 0.185. Meanwhile, the total cost of inventories in the initial condition was Rp. 1,524,220,679, which decreased to Rp. 1,515,585,514.
