PERANCANGAN ALAT BANTU PEMUPUKAN KELAPA SAWIT MENGGUNAKAN METODE RASIONAL

Palm oil is one of the largest incomes in Padang Kiau Village. The current oil palm fertilization process, workers have to make a hole in each part of the palm trunk using a hoe as deep as 5cm then the fertilizer is transported using a bucket with a maximum weight of 5 kg, then the fertilizer transported is poured using a scoop and then the hole is closed with using legs. In this case, workers have difficulty carrying fertilizers, which can only be transported at a maximum of 5 kg by using a bucket and the process is too long, while the area of the plantation that must be fertilized is 20 hectares. Therefore, a tool is made to fertilize oil palm which aims to simplify and speed up the process of fertilizing oil palm. The method used is the Rational method. The stages of this method consist of several stages such as clarifying objectives, defining functions, determining specifications, determining characteristics, determining alternatives, selecting alternatives, design architecture, prototyping and product reviews. In the alternative selection, alternative 2.The results obtained after the trial are: the new oil palm fertilizing tool can accommodate and transport 50 kg of fertilizer at one time and the time of the fertilization process can be minimized 33.33%, which was originally in 50kg of fertilizer. spent 90 minutes with this tool only takes 60 minutes / 50 kg.References
