Abstract

Gambir is widely produced by the people of West Sumatra. More than 80% of gambir exports are obtained in West Sumatera province precisely in Lima Puluh Kota District. One component that has a high selling value in gambir is catechins. So based on previous research for the application of processes from small scale to larger scale, it is of course necessary determination of the optimum conditions of the tool to be used on a larger scale. From the result of research using catekin pre-purification tool from gambir obtained the highest yield and catechin content at the time of cooling 15 hours ie 29.20% and 75% in third washing product.
