Abstract

Abstract - To get a strong wire and not easily broken or broken, you must use a wire with a large diameter. This is certainly not efficient because it will spend a lot of wire in the production process. Therefore, manufacturers carry out wire drawing which is a wire drawing process with the aim of getting a strong wire and wire diameter as desired. In this study, a test will be carried out which aims to analyze the effect of variations in motor rotation speed on the mechanical properties of NiTi in the wire drawing process with grease added with detergent. In this research, wire drawing process was carried out, hardness test to determine wire hardness, and metallographic test to see wire surface. Speed variations are used in the wire drawing process as measurement parameters that will affect the specimen results. The result of this research is that the lower the speed of wire drawing in the wire drawing process, the mechanical properties of NiTi wire will increase in terms of strength, stiffness, hardness, and reduced wire ductility.
