Analisa Pengaruh Panas (tempering) Terhadap Sifat Mekaknik Dan Struktur Mikro Baja AISI 4140

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to see how the effect of heat treatment (tempering) on the mechanical properties of AISI 4140 steel material, which is viewed from the impact test and to see how the condition of the microstructure after tempering heat treatment is carried out. The method used in this study uses the experimental method. The steps include analysis of tempering heat treatment on AISI 4140 steel material with temperature variations including room temperature, 500°C, 600°C, and 700°C The results of this study where after tempering heat treatment get the impact value at room temperature 3157.85 J/mm², 500°C 4166.46 J/mm², 600 °C 5859.60 J/mm², and 700 °C 6571.08 J/mm². The metallographic test found different phase structures, including ferrite, pearlite, martensite and bainite. the higher the impact price. In metallographic testing, the microstructure of AISI 4140 Steel changed, the higher the given tempering temperature, the smaller the grain size and more orderly arrangement.
