Abstract

Salt is indispensable in human life, is a salt daily necessities especially iodized salt. The study was
conducted to obtain salt production using solar collectors and get the achievement of the tool into
the salt sea water evaporation. The working principle of sea water distillation equipment, solar
radiation falling onto the surface of glass transparent and forwarded to the absorber plate, inside
there is a sea water basin with a volume of 10 liters. Radiation is partly reflected, partly absorbed by
the absorber plate. The absorbed energy is converted into heat energy and resulted in a change in
the temperature of the absorber plate and inside the basin area, so the water in a basin experienced
evaporation and upward. This causes the collector plate temperature increases and the temperature
outside the basin is low, condensation occurs on the surface of the inside of the cover glass. The
resulting condensation clinging to the surface of glass and glass to flow following the slope towards
the channel and are accommodated by the glass container. With 10 liters of sea water can be used
in testing in the form of a concentrated solution of salt as much as 1360 ml and 7745 ml of clean
water. Maximum net productivity of water in the can on the second day with the amount of
condensate productivity of at least 1360 ml and obtained on the seventh day with the amount of 620
ml of condensate productivity, due to cloudy weather.
