ANALISIS SIFAT MEKANIK BIO KOMPOSIT RESIN EPOKSI SERAT KENAF DENGAN ORIENTASI SERAT ANYAMAN MENGGUNAKAN COMPRESSION MOLDING
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the mechanical properties of epoxy resin-based bio-composites with kenaf fiber reinforcement arranged in a woven pattern using the compression molding method. Kenaf fiber was chosen because it is an environmentally friendly natural fiber, has high cellulose content, and has the potential to replace synthetic fibers. Epoxy resin is used as a matrix because it is lightweight, has superior mechanical strength, and is resistant to wear. This study tested the mechanical properties of the composite, including flexural strength, impact, and hardness (shore hardness). The results showed that increasing the percentage of kenaf fiber in the composite contributed to improving the mechanical properties of the material. This bio-composite is expected to be a more environmentally friendly alternative material for various industrial applications.Downloads
