Abstract

Wind is one of the source of energy., Wind moving from the high pressure to the low pressure
area. The flow velocity of wind be affected by pressure gap of the area. The energy of wind cath by
rotate the propeller of wind turbines. That is change kinetic energy to be mechanic energy in the shaft
of propeller more over the mechanic energy revamped to be electric energy in the generator unit. This
study investigated the retationship of wind velocity and the electric power can be optainable. The
rotor designed with 2 propeller, with 36 cm wide and 40 cm high. The wind velocity ranged from 1,8
m/s – 4,8 m/s, result of the study shown the relationship between wind velocity and electric power as
the hyperbolic curve, where the minimal power is 0,0017 W at 1,8 m/s and the maximal power is
0,387 W at 4,8 m/s.
