Abstract

At Duri Data Center PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) there are a lot of important servers which are used by users (consist of all employees and business partner) for activity such as exploration, drilling, financial, and also other daily operational activities lasted for 24 hours. Therefore, all servers can not be off. To prevent failure or electricity down that makes server can not operate normally, one of solution is using Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) which has current and time capacity appropriate to Data Center needs. As the server is expected to keep power on and serve the user. Because when server failure or blackout happened even just for a moment, it could create big loss for company. Therefore, this study will analyze UPS power capacity of 70 kVA against server loading of 25,128 kVA in an attempt to anticipate power or electricity failure at Duri Data Center PT. CPI, those are UPS runtime that can run for 1 hour 17 minutes and UPS load percentage of 35,9 %. Based on that information, there is still possibility to add more load/server by 124,64 Ampere or approximately about 112 units server. To create ideal condition that requires tolerance of 25% there is still possibility to use UPS capacity until 56 kVA and the load can be increased by 85,8 Ampere or about 77 units server. It is found that UPS configuration is oversizing because ideal UPS rating of 31,41 kVA is smaller than current UPS rating configuration (70 kVA) so there is no need for additional UPS power capacity.
