Abstract

Composite materials have been developed in a variety of applications, utilizing empty fruit
bunch fibers as reinforcement arranged randomly using polyester resin with a polymer
matrix vary the fiber length is 2 cm, 3 cm, and 4 cm performed to obtain the value of better
mechanical properties, namely strength tensile and impact strength. Of a fiber composite
material obtained oil palm empty fruit bunches best tensile strength in fiber length 4 cm by
10.64 N/mm2 with the best impact on the price of 3 cm fiber length of 0,101 J/mm2, so that got
the highest score on the composite modulus of elasticity of the fiber length 4 cm of 439.63 N /
mm2 as applications of composite materials can be used. Where the length of fiber in the
composite material empty fruit bunch fibers affect the tensile strength and impact strength.
