Abstract

ASSAB 760 steel can be used as material for a pipe component system piping network geothermal power (geothermal) boilers and boiler uap.Dalam steel use is generally located within the udarayang containing chlorides, sulfur and such a high temperature. Some studies show that the corrosion rate of the steel ASSAB environment 760 is relatively very high. However, there is no data that provide information corrosion rate of the steel in the air environment without other elements. or does not contain chloride and sulfur. Therefore, testing the corrosion of steel ASSAB 760 with ambient temperature of 700 0C. Test data show that the rate of corrosion on steel ASSAB 760 air-temperature environment of 700 ° C ranged from 0.03 to 0.048 mm / year. Due to the high temperature environment can cause steel surface damage in the form of chipped, eroded which can result in weight loss of the material.
